ABOUT MATTHEW
The Owner of the Best Hair Salon in Flowery Branch
Matthew's passion and innate talent gave him the courage to step out on his own and pursue doing what he loves for a living, hairdressing. Back in October of 2013, Matthew opened his salon with the dream of bringing LA/NYC/Italy/Atlanta-type quality to North Georgia. Fast forward to over a decade later, and Matthew has taken his 2700 square-foot Publix salon to a 7500 square-foot bank sitting on an acre and a half.
It’s important to him that he stays ahead of the newest trends and styles which is why he flies to Rome, Italy every year in the fall to connect with his color line Artego and attend the biggest Hair Show in the world. He absolutely loves participating in this event and exchanging techniques with stylists from over 37 different countries.
Traveling around the globe to study under the best this industry has to offer is Matthew’s love language. It thrills him so to be able to bring this knowledge back to his staff and make sure that they are up to date on the most current trends in the industry.
Last January, for example, Matthew traveled to London with Amee, his Lead Stylist, and Kris, his Creative Director, to study under Richard Ashforth, one of the last living educators that studied under Vidal Sassoon. And in July, Matthew went to South France to study under John Baptiste Mazella, Madonna‘s hairdresser, for an intense hair-cutting class.
Whether Matthew is straight razoring, precision cutting, traveling the globe to sharpen his skills or painting balayage highlights, there is no denying how diverse he is in his craft. Matthew is not only a master stylist, barber, and colorist, but also an artist.
